Over the years, we’ve learned that humanitarian efforts are most effective when they rise above political divisions. Every person has their own beliefs, as is their right, but the smoking Sonoran Desert is indifferent. Here, the shared mission is obvious, especially once you’ve been there.
A Grim Reality
Over 303 people have lost their lives in Cabeza Prieta since 2000. There’s a saying that “there are no atheists in foxholes.” Likewise there are no politicians in the searing heat of the desert—only people intent to make a difference.
A Practical Solution: Cell Towers for Safety
Thankfully, CPR has broad support—from law enforcement to search-and-rescue organizations. Ordinary cell towers in an extraordinary location solves the problem.
